About the role

We are looking for an ambitious accountant who wants the opportunity to grow with the company and eventually take on broader accounting leadership responsibilities. Because the core accounting function does not currently require a full-time schedule on its own, this is a dynamic hybrid role. You will handle foundational accounting while serving as a strategic partner and executive assistant to the CEO—building out our systems today so you can lead our accounting department tomorrow. What You Will Do Core Accounting: Manage the day to day transactional accounting activities of the business, particularly accounts receivable, customer collections, billing, and accounts payable. Payroll: Manage and process payroll for our global contractor staff. Strategy & Systems Build: Act as a strategic thought partner and spearhead the build-out of our proprietary "talent brain systems." Executive Support: Work directly with the CEO to set up new accounts and handle essential administrative and executive assistant tasks. Accounting Operations: Maintain accurate day to day transaction activity within QuickBooks Online. Future Leadership: Over time, responsibilities are expected to expand into reconciliations, accrual accounting, prepaid schedules, month end close, process development, and broader ownership of the accounting function. Requirements Who We Are Looking For Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university or equivalent accounting degree, alongside at least three years of professional accounting experience. Accounting Mastery: Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including debits and credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrual accounting, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and financial statements. Technical Skills: Experience working with QuickBooks Online or a similar accounting platform, coupled with strong Excel or Google Sheets skills. Communication: Strong written and spoken English, ideally C1 proficiency or equivalent. You must have the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with US based customers by phone, video, and email. Strategic Growth Mindset: This role requires someone who is comfortable doing detailed accounting work today while preparing for substantially greater responsibility in the future. We value people who ask why a process exists, identify areas that could be improved, and look for better ways to operate.
